I began a series of classes aimed at novice woodworkers looking for a place to begin. Specifically aimed at the reenactment community, my intent is to outline a series of steps to complete a project useful to a medieval reenactment encampment while also discussing relevant tools.
By setting up projects that utilize tools that are either likely to be in the house already or are easy to acquire I hope to empower people to begin taking those steps that they always thought were to difficult or they didn’t know where to start.
You can find the video here.
The next class will be on making a bench with mortise and tenons and will focus on using the chisel.
Following that will be making a camp bed based on the Gokstad bed and will focus on making angle cuts and larger assemblies.
I welcome your comments and suggestions.
